Tsukiji Outer Market, about 10 min to walk from the middle of Ginza, is developed for the wholesale fish market for professionals (called “Inner Market”) since 1935. Though the wholesale fish market (Inner Market) was moved to Toyosu in 2018, about 4 Km away from Tsukiji, its Outer Market remains its attractiveness through a variety of cuisines including seafood, and small shops offering Japanese conventional items.
Because of the origin of market opened for wholesale professionals to purchase fishes for their restaurants, the most of shops/restaurants are open early in the morning (say, 7:00 a.m. -). The best is to visit there for your breakfast during morning.
